I was wondering if it was possible to hook up the VATS from the LS1 harness to work with a 3rd gen column (90 -92).

I am planning on putting a 90-92 column in m 68 Camaro and was hoping to convert VATS- does anyone see any potential problems with this?

I would just get the VATS bypass module on Ebay, its like $30, and you get an extra anti-theft out of it, just umplug the bypass and take it in your pocket. voila! car will not run.

Doesn't VATS work the same way just with the key acting as the module?

Yes, as far as I know, but I feel that the added security, as well as reduced complexity make the bypass a better option

you will need wire up a ls1 BCM to decode the vats resistance, to the enable signal to the pcm.

other than that, i don't see any problems with it, but it is one more thing to worry about having issues with, especially with a 10+ year old column
