Default Converting LM7 Inline MAF Sensor to Drop in Style?

I did a search and could not find a specific answer so here it goes.... I've got a 95 S-10 Blazer with a 5.3. I just swapped motors and was previously using a stock style inline MAF from the donor truck motor. I am tidying up a bunch of stuff and want to clean up my intake tubing to eliminate some hoses and clamps if possible. I see they make a harness adapter to go from the 5 wire truck style to the 3 wire? drop in style MAF. If I go this route and weld a bung into my aluminum intake tube with a drop in style MAF am I setting myself up for problems? Will this be a plug and play or is tuning needed? I do have HP Tuners available if needed. Thanks for any advice. If anyone has done this what new MAF sensor did you end up running?

The tune will have to be "adjusted" to account for the different MAF.
