Default 1948 Studebaker ,LS-3, TR6060 Conversion

Hi, i am a new member from northern NY.I found this group through a google search about moving factory shifter location for a TR6060 6 speed manual transmission, that brought me to this group and found the answer right away!! I am currently working on a 1948 Studebaker Business Coupe restomod project. I am attempting to put an LS-3 and TR6060 6 speed from a 2010 Camaro SS into the car. Although i am sure it can be done,i have never done a conversion( I do have 40 years experience as a backyard mechanic) and a Studebaker engine swap is unconventional to say the least.I am sure I will have plenty of questions as I go along. I have already pulled everything out of The Studebaker, and got a Moroso front sump oil pan,and Trans Dapt motor mounts that should work . I decided after one failed trial fit attempt to remove the front clip of the Studebaker to make future trial fits easier. My question right now is , can I use the rear differential from the Studebaker? I really want to keep the car stock looking and plan on using street tires. I want the ultimate Sleeper!!

I have a friend in Fla that put a Ford Coyote engine in a 48 Stude and that's a much wider engine so the LS with fit. I would not use ANY of the original suspension as well as look very hard at beefing up the frame. Can't build a house on shifting sands.
