Having driven both I prefer the T-56 / T-56 Magnum / TR6060 family of transmissions to the TKO series. Plus the double overdrive on the T-56 series is nice. From what I see the TKO looks to be an older design with new applications.
Dual Rzeppa CV, like in my Cougar.

Thank you for all the information. I think I am going to go the t56 route with the 2.66. Not sure if I need the double overdrive versus the tko600, but I have heard they have issues shifting over 6k rpm. I have a 3.89 rear gear and the tires are 27" tall. The CD009 doesn't see like it would be a good choice for my setup. Thank you again.

Robert,

With a 27" tire and 3.89 gears, you're going to be just a hair over 1800rpm @ 75mph (I consider this a good highway speed), and your driveshaft will be spinning at just a hair over 3600RPM. Two suggestions:

1. I highly recommend the dual CV driveshaft from The Driveshaft Shop.
2. Make sure that whatever cam you pick will be happy in that 1700-1800RPM range.

Is that a carbon fiber shaft Andrew? What DIA? Those folks are right up the road from me and I've been wanting to try them out....

Yes, CF tube, I believe it is 3.25". Driveshaft shop also offer a lower cost aluminum tube option.

Cost not so much of an issue; overall diameter is however due to limitations in the tunnel. Suspect they'll want to do a 3.5" AL. Unless I can talk them into a larger wall thickness 3.0". I'll drive up and have a talk with them. Thx.
