Walbro Fuel Pump Noise

Walbro Fuel Pump Noise Hello all,
I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or if the Walbro 255 pumps are just super loud...This is my third time using one and they all make the same obnoxious noise. I had put one on my 56 F100, which also got a brand new tank, lines, filter, etc. at the time of install and it was very loud.
This time I am working on my 1960 Oldsmobile with a LS swap (LM7) and on the second pump. The first one was making a loud whining so I decided to just put in a brand new tank and another brand new Walbro 255. Thought maybe the old tank was clogging things up...I just finished up the install on the second new pump with the brand new fuel tank and it is still loud as well. Are Walbro's really just this loud? If so, does anybody have any recommendations to fix this or maybe a different pump I should use. Both set-ups are in-tank pumps and are using 10 gauge wire for power and ground.

With the engine running at idle, I can barely hear my in-tank Walbro pump. Outside the vehicle,it is loud but I'm not bothered by it. In fact, it is reassuring to hear that pump kick on for 2 seconds when I turn the key to Run. It is quieter with a lot of fuel in the tank to muffle the sound. I'm paying more attention to my Magnaflow muffler sound rather than the pump most of the time.

Common complaint with the 255 Walbros. I run a rotary DW300 (Deatschwerks) in-tank. So quiet you can barely hear it prime inside the car. I believe the bigger Walbro (450?) is a rotary style and much quieter than the 255.

I saw a post on here that mentioned if any part of the pump/sock touches the tank it will resonate causing it to be loud, I have no experience with that as I'm still in the build process. Also read that the day after my pump arrived.

Great video! Thanks! My Walbros sound just like that and definitely does not go well with the vibe of the car. I really don't like hearing the fuel pump over the sound of the exhaust. Looks like I will be swapping it out for a DW200. Thank you everyone for the replies and recommendations! Much appreciated!

He's probably running one of the GSS341/GSS342 pumps. Every one of those I have used (across multiple different applications) is pretty easy to hear from outside the car when the pump is running at full speed.
