Settled on a gray my brother and I like. This will be the engine bay, cage, and complete underside of the cars color.
still haven’t figured out the body color but leaning towards white. Now it’s time for final assembly of the suspension and to toss the drivetrain in. Looking to do that this weekend.
Moving along some. Tossed the 5.3 in to test everything. Universal motormounts wouldn’t work so used the stock ones off my camaro. Had to massage both headers a fair amount to fit.
More things off the list. Torque box reinforcements are in and got the brakes installed. Went with sn95 disk all around. Easy and straightforward install by cutting the mounting brackets some for the rear. Was able to get the car on the ground as well. Need to raise the front a little and hopefully the fuel tank and battery will drop the rear a little.
Does someone make replacement panels for these? I haven't looked into it, but I'd like to build a notch at some point...and I live in Michigan, so I'm sure any I find will need rust repairs.
Or are you making your own/fixing what's there/replacing with parts from a donor?

the panel we have came with the car but I think it is from LMR late model restorations. They have an assortment of replacement panels.
Indiana has the same problem there. This car must of originally been south because it really only has a couple small rust spots to take care of.
Still working on some small rush repair and getting the rocker fully welded in. The only welder my brother has is a tig which has been fine for the spot welds but proving a little more difficult for spots with larger gaps. Need a mig.
ordered the converter, timing set, oil pump, flexplate, and got in the trans crossmember so will get the bottom end finished as well as the engine and trans in the car for the final time. Getting closer to maybe driving the car.
5.3 is finished minus rocker trunnions. Starting to iron out the body harness to strip out what we do not need. Also picked up these headlights for $25. Better than the stock ones we had.
Fuel system time. Went with a new quantum drop in unit and 340lph pump to get things going. We are copying the return system I used on my camaro so got all the an fittings and lines in for that.
