88 notchback build
The back story Is I had a friend that originally tore the car down with the intention of doing a coyote powered irs car but then decided to sell. So picked up the body and irs for a fair price and sold the irs off recouping almost the whole purchase price.
Now the goal is to have a low 10 second car for a whole lot less money than I have in my camaro. Also this is a build I am doing and splitting costs with my brother so hopefully the time table will be shorter.
Plans are a sbe 5.3, 241 heads, truck intake, cam, btr valve springs and pushrods with a 200 shot. Engine management will be the new Holley terminator x, which I also plan to put in my camaro. Th400 will handle the shifting duties and the 8.8 will be upgraded.
Now onto to the car. It’s got some minor rust repair and the body needs a little work. Previous owner stripped it down to paint and never primmed or painted. Personally I kind of like the raty look for now and just run the car but my brother wants it painted before final assembly.
Grabbed some fenders and a bumber to complete the front. The rsm kit was fantastic with the fit and finish. My brother tig welded everything on. As far as wheels and tires are concerned we have a set of hole shot rears and jegs front runners.
Some suspension right now are strange single adjustable struts and coil overs, pa racing tube kmember and a arms, flaming river rack.
Planing to do a 10 point cage and through floor subframe connectors. Also Hyme joint rear upper and lower control arms.
the 8.8 is getting 35 spline strange axles and spool along with c clip eliminators.
sorry for the long first posts that is enough for now. I will be updating this build as progress happens. Hopefully you all can give tips and pointers as I go along.

Looking forward to more updates on all of your cars. I've had a 77' 280z for about 6 years now that has just sat and patiently waited to be built. I'm just getting into the LS scene so i'm sure it will get one one of these days.

Picked up a th400 for the car. Tci street fighter with rmvb. Hopefully we get a chance to install soon and look at what we want to do for the trans crossmember.
Couple of things right now stock motor mounts will not work with my speed engineering long tube headers. They make contact so I need to find some mounts that hug the block and mount to stock ls1 style pedestals. Also having a hell of a time getting the axle bearings out of the 8.8 so I can wrap up the new cc eliminator, axle, and spool install. I have tried a pully puller but ended up breaking a wrench and all but breaking the puller. I may have to add heat to the equation. . .

A little more progress this weekend. Got the single adjustable strange struts with coil over kit installed.
We didn’t get much else done on the notch since I installed a rst clutch in my camaro which took most of the time.
Slowly getting things together. Picked up some upper and lower control arms.
Needing to source a convertor, driveshaft, manual brake reservoir, seats, and cage. Hoping Holley runs a Black Friday deal on the terminator x since I’ll be ordering two (one for the notch and one for my camaro)

terminator x is here so progress should start happening. Need a converter and driveshaft to button up the drivetrain. Goal is for the car to be driving this summer.
