95 LT1 vs 1998 roller 350 block difference I happened to come across a LT1 for free. I have a 1998 Tahoe but the engine is bad. Can I use just the long block of the LT1 (heads and block only) and then install the intake and water pump and all the other front engine accessories off the Tahoe on to the LT1 block and have it work with the Tahoe ECM and the Tahoe distributor. I noticed that the LT1 has a hole for a rear mounted distributor.
No it will not work. The LT1 had revised cooling flow so the small block stuff will not work. Stick with the 5.7 there are lots of them around cheap, not free like the LT1, but they will work.

If your 350ci block is still good, have someone swap the guts of the LT1 into it, using your old accessories.
