243 heads on lq9
If I changed from 317 heads to 243 and threw in a say 228r cam or something would I be able to use the valve springs that come with a TSP cam or would i need something different?

pac 1218 springs ,706 heads work great on lq4's , to bump up compression , they make great power , your 317 flow better but , the 706's will make more power due to compression increase

I had the old grind 228r cam (.588 lift) in an otherwise stock LQ9 with 317 heads and PAC 1218 beehive springs. I believe I was using 7.400 pushrods with that setup. After a good tune it was a really nice all around cam for a 6.0. Currently have a forged 370 with 243's that were slightly milled and a cam motion 227/232 cam with around 5.900 lift running 7.375" pushrods. You are best off getting an adjustable pushrod and measuring to get the right length for your specific set up.
