LSX compared to SBC
And they are known to have thicker walls than other LS engines, some of which HAVE had wall thickness issues, most notably most 5.7's.
So do us all a YUUUGE favor and drop the cocky attitude.
Most of the guys commenting on this thread have VERY extensive LS experience. They don't need to educate themselves on anything discussed here. You, however, DO.
Most people think all LS blocks are the same other than aluminum vs. cast iron and the bore size. No, they're not. Some have features that are a better starting point for n/a build. Some have features that are better starting point for a turbo build. There is something desirable about a Gen IV 5.3L block that makes it a great choice for a turbo build. I'll let you figure that one out.
When I came here a couple years ago complaining my engine was weak sauce, boy I was all ears! And some of you are the same people that helped me and I don't remember us having arguments....

I've only made 2 short posts and am not one of the people arguing endlessly with you.
Regarding bore size, yes there are some groupings that are commonly accepted based on cylinder head compatibility. It can limit what heads you have access to, and ultimately how well your n/a engine can perform.
4.8 and 5.3 are small bore They can only fit the heads that came with them.
6.0 and 6.2 are medium bore. Must have at least 4.0" bore to fit the 6.2 cylinder heads.
LS7 is large bore. It's the only OE large bore engine at 4.125" and the heads aren't backwards compatible to any other engine.
You're a veteran engine builder, YOU should know that bore size matters.
Originally, I was just asking a very general question that had nothing to do with the specific parts I had bought and I ended up getting bullied and insulted by a bunch of people acting like 14 year old's when the fact is literally every thing in the S10 is temporary right now (not a representation of the end result that I hope for at all) just to get it running before winter hits. I found some other posts on this site a few months ago while I was researching and it was the exact same thing, a bunch of people being rude and acting like thugs to each other. I guess I knew what to expect but i just got caught up in it.
I shouldn't have taken it out on you and I apologize.
If all goes well I will end up with a single turbo'ed LY6 with a TH400 or 4L80E, the truck will be back halfed and more then likely have a narrowed 8.8 unless I find a sweet deal on a 9 inch...I am literally just playing around with the 5.3 so I can learn (and not about what intake to use LOL) about LS engines.. I wasn't actually trying to say that intake was a good choice for that engine with a stock cam...I was really just trying to say that in my opinion it was good enough to get a general idea of the engines power for a comparison to older engines and I still think that's true...if people reading this don't agree I respect your opinion but all the drama is just childish
Anyone reading feel free to continue spamming insults and **** talking....if that's what you enjoy doing with your time I got no problem with that but I would just say that you should think about what you put out into the word even when it's done anonymously.
Street cams from here on out!
