How to Remove Injectors from Fuel Rail?

Guys,

I need to change the fuel rail on my 2000 LS1 engine. The rail got dented in transit when I bought the engine / tranny package. I bought a brand new rail and removed the dented one today. I need to move the injectors from the damaged rail to the new one.

How are the injectors attached to the fuel rail? Looking inside my new rail I don't see any fancy retainers, clips, etc. I tried simply tugging on an injector and it went nowhere. I don't want to use gorilla force for fear of screwing up something.

Any advice, tips, etc.?

Theres a metal clip that goes around the outside of the injector and the bung it goes into. Pull the clip off and the injector will pull out.

Thanks for the reply, but the clips have all been removed already and the injectors still seem "stuck".

I dont remember mine being that hard to get out. But that should be the only thing that holds them in there.

As long as you have the clips off, just PULL! Mine were in there pretty good and needed more force than I thought they should to come out.

Twist and wiggle the injector while pulling it from the rail. The o-rings tend to stick.

When you reinstall them into the new rail, inspect the o-rings for any damage at all and replace as necessary. Use a smear of synth motor oil on the o-rings top and bottom during assembly.
