5.3 to Corvette conversion - this budget reasonable?
We replace them with an adjustable regulator. We have seen way more corvette regulators fail on swaps vs adjustable regulators. The corvette filter cant handle bigger fuel pumps, and they have been hit or miss in quality on vehicles that came in. If you have a stock motor and small fuel pump similar to OEM then it would work assuming you have a good filter/reg and not a cheap knock off. 99% of the vehicles we have come in for a tune are far from stock and dont have small fuel pumps. We have a car here now that came in with corvette filter and the fueling would not act right no matter what you did in the tune, pulled corvette filter out and replaced with a real regulator and fuel went back to normal and tuned the car no problem. Just see that more and more, vs have only changed only a couple adjustable regulators out ever.

My personal experience has been fine with a corvette regulator, but I have also heard stories of issues. I have been using one for 3 years in my GMC.
I have:
~450 HP 6.0
Walbro 255 in tank
Genuine filter bought from dealer
Running a bigger pump, trying to support more flow, and buying unknown brands could all be issues.
