Default Evap solenoid removal?

Engine is from an 08 Tahoe, 5.3 Vortec. I'm test fitting the stripped down wiring harness and there is no plug for the evap solenoid. I assume it's been deleted as I asked the programmer to remove anything unnecessary. Just wondering what to do with this stuff. Remove the solenoid and hard hoses and plug it on the intake?

I don't mean to sound rude, but if anything in this thread actually requires more than a simple google search or less, then you are in way over your head for any type of swap. Unless you are doing some cookie cutter swap that everybody in the world has already done, then you are going to encounter multiple issues that you will just have to be able to figure out. That is part of the process.

You do sound rude. Pardon me if I'm not "everyone else in the world" and this is my first LS swap. I've probably been doing (carbed) engine swaps since you were in diapers. I've googled and everything I find is Gen III stuff. I found an aftermarket block off plate but I'm miles from my shop and engine now and can't look at it and I don't recall my port entry looking like the Gen III intake I see pics of. Maybe you could use your "decade of experience" to provide some useful information.

Good luck with that!

There's some people here that actually to give sound advice and help solve problems. Its not uncommon to cap off the EVAP system and disable the DTC's n the tune to the the SES or Service Engine Soon light does not comes on.

Not sure about the plate and maybe someone will offer some advice. I've seen the port on the intake manifold and the plastic line both capped off for the EVAP. On the tune and those DTC's are modified to not report, however if you are running all of the emissions components or making sure it would pass a visual inspection then I could see a need for making this look as though everything is intact...

Default evap

Thanks 01Camaro. We don't worry about inspections or emissions here. My tuner eliminated the evap. I finally got back to the shop and pulled off the solenoid and lines. Gen IV is not like the Gen III. All that was left to cap off was a nipple on the intake. 1/4" I believe.

Confirming this was the situation on my Gen IV LS3 - disable the appropriate stuff in the tune; remove OEM plastic line/valve from the intake and put a cap over the nipple that the plastic line came off of.

This time I fully intend to sound rude. You say you have done multiple swaps, but you ask a forum about a simple block off plate? What kind of person can be intelligent enough to do an engine swap, but not know that? The kind of person who does not everything. This is why I referenced a google search. You have the almost total knowledge of the world at your fingertips. Use it

I’m glad I inquired. Now I know (and anyone else who searches here in the future) that the Gen IV doesn’t require one of those aftermarket block off plates that the Gen III uses. You should be glad you learned something instead of being a dick.
