my 2003 lincoln ls with an lq9 we pulled from an escalade. Mated to a 4l60e that we got for free and built.
I owned this car with the original Jaguar 3.9 v8 but it needed to be rebuilt and parts were not available. I had some time on my hands so I figured why not swap this car and avoid any more issues with the jag engine. Me and a friend started tearing down the engine to be honed in April 2019 and swapped the cam and heads. November the car was finished.
Probably my favorite part of the swap (also most cost effective) was using a c5 vette cluster I bought for $130. Fit nicely behind the factory lincoln bezel with some trimming. All gauges work except for fuel level which we're tinkering with.
Looks good.Had an co-worker that wanted to do that to his Lincoln. He was having timing issues with his original engine and I had my LS swapped Cutlass and was telling him about it.

Lot's of these ls's available for cheap and they're pretty sporty. The PCM I used was from an Avalanche (2003 I think) and harness from a 2004 Escalade. We pretty much just re-flashed the pcm in HPT with a c5 operating system (cluster was from c5) and had a 5.7 tune on it which we adjusted. Bought the connector for the back side of the c5 cluster and re-pinned the truck harness wires to it - you'll need a wiring diagram. So $130 for the cluster and the extra bit of money it took messing around in hptuners.
I had really wanted to do a C5 cluster in my build but when I inquired about it the few people who responded seemed to think it would be very hard and require the c5 body control module. I really wish I had found your build about a year ago! Did I understand correctly that you didn't need a body control module? Do you have an obd2 port? Is there any part of the functionality of the cluster that was lost?

Only chevy computer I have in my car is the '04 Avalanche ECM. I have an OBD2 port I just ran the one wire from the c5 cluster to it with power and ground and it reads engine data. Everything in the cluster works only difficulty is calibrating fuel gauge.
