Default Zf 6 speed to 4.8

Hello everyone I’m building a 1987 bmw e30 with the gm 4.8l and I just bought a 6 speed tranny that was suppose to be a t56 I had this tranny shipped from far and to my surprise it’s a zf 6 speed from a corvette 1996 am I able to make this work or no go.

In general, no. It *has* been done, but the ZF bellhousing cannot accommodate the flywheel diameter needed to engage the LS starter.

There have been some threads about using an aftermarket (quick time, I think) bellhousing, and machining parts to make it work. So, it can/has been done, but usually only C4 guys, as the T56s aren't an easy swap into them.

Yeah, I'd send that back at the seller's expense, or call my credit card company and dispute it.

And probably now you know why it was much cheaper than other T56’s you were looking at?
