Has anyone made a bulkhead (or used open slots in their Chevelle firewall bulkhead) to run their Dakota Digital sensor wires through? As in cut, crimped the proper ends so that they disconnect with the forward light/engine harness.
I have enough open slots to do this and want to ensure a clean installation. One less hole in the firewall and the ability to remove things easily in the future.
I don't think this should be a problem but want to see if anyone has done it and what their experience was.
I used the open slots for everything on my standalone harness that had to go into the cabin. Otherwise you could use the speedometer cable hole, I used mine for the TAC harness (the grommet fit perfectly).
Keep in mind that the Packard 56 terminals are open barrel, but they have extra tangs that aren't compatible with every crimper unless you modify it.
