Default 71 Monte 5.3 Loss of power to coils while cranking

Hey guys its been a while. I have a 71 Monte with 5.3 in it. My car WON'T start at all unless I run a jumper wire straight from the battery+ spliced to the coil power while cranking. I have power to the coils when the key is in run position but as soon as I crank, the power goes away. I did my own stand alone harness and I thinking maybe I have some wires crossed somewhere. I've been going over any diagrams I can find the are readable that shows the correct color wiring coming from the firewall.

Any help would be appreciated.

Problem solved. I looked for other wires coming from the bulkhead that stayed hot while cranking. Looks like a faded pink wire. Starts great now.

Are you triggering a relay with this wire? If not replace the wire starting at the bulkhead, it's a resistance wire so it won't give 12V. It wouldn't be a bad idea to replace it even if you're triggering a relay.
