Looking at Harnesses and ECM's for a future LS swap. This will be hooked up to a 2001 5.3/LS1 intake/4L60E.Any input would be appreciated.

I went with a standalone engine harness from PSI Conversions and a complete body wiring harness from American Auto Wire - their "Classic Update" model.

I have four different Powertrain Control Modules (PCM) here of the 512k byte size that you will need. Two of the "896" part number style and two of the "0411" style. All and either type work well for your needs especially if you stick with a drive-by-cable throttle body. These PCM's go for about $35-38 bucks in the junk yards here and then I defeat VATS and do the other tuning here with "Tuner Pro RT", "LS Droid" or "PCM Hammer", all for free.

I used to use swap specialties on every build but their quality control and customer service has become non existent. I’m now using Holley terminator x max on all builds. When you add everything up it’s only slightly more than running stock stuff and far more user friendly.

If you don't have a harness or ECU already, I'd go with a Terminator X. I switched over from a stock ECU this year and it's a great system.
