Knock sensor question
Knock sensor question Will a exhaust pipe rubbing cause the knock sensors to pull timing and retard the engine? I'm shaking out my swap and I suspect this could be a cause of the engine stumbling upon acceleration. Pipe is hitting the trans cross member as I tucked everything in as tight as I could and have a small area that's definitely rubbing/hitting with engine/trans movement.
While I don't know if the vibration could cause a knock sensor reaction (doubt it - they're looking for VERY specific 'noise' in a certain frequency) -- I don't think the knock sensor signal would result in pulling so much timing or changing fuel mixture so much that the engine would actually stumble. Have you pulled codes?
