I put a GMB pump on a PT Cruiser 2.4l. That #%@! thing leaked in 2 days/18 miles. So I replaced it under warranty and submitted a labor claim. GMB denies the labor claim stating "The pump was damaged by electrolysis."
Apparently .02 VAC can completely destroy a water pump in 2 days. I will never use a GMB product again. And that's saying something as a shop owner that installs 50-100 pumps a year.
Hope your results are better.
Ironically, the ACDelco WP I need (C6 Corvette), is listed with country of origin............................................ .......CHINA and is $158 with no thermostat or housing. That can buy a lot of rice.
GMB, like ACDelco, is USA-based but all these pumps probably come out of the same rice field.
GM's made no secret -- their biggest future market, BY FAR, is China, not the US. Everyone's biggest future market is China - the law of large numbers. They build vehicles, engines and parts over there with Chinese "help" I'm sure. No surprise to me. AC Delco made in China.
Bought the T4 80mm turbo that Viren recommended. Needed a bigger hotside than the next gen 7875 for the 370 and this one has it. 83/75 vs 96/88. My big concern was having to redo the downpipe and he compared the 2 exh housings and said I shouldn't need to. When I opened the box, I said no frigging way! It is way bigger and substantially heavier. Turns out what it made it looked much bigger was the compressor housing. I took the compressor housing off and bolted up the rest and the downpipe fit just like he said it would. HOWEVER, had to hack up the fenderwell just to get the turbo to fit with the compressor housing on and no way in hell will I be able to get a filter on there, especially with the 5.5" compressor inlet. I dread the thought of driving on the street with no filter and those screens seem totally useless. I don't mind cutting the car, but the more I cut, the more I'm exposing the compressor to the fenderwell where the tire is kicking up dust, rocks and water.
Tomorrow I'll take some pics and weigh both for comparison.

Turbo install complete, well almost. Need to come up with a filter for street driving. Looking at a 5.5"-5" 90* elbow with a short 5" filter. Also finished up a full exhaust with a 10" Vibrant resonator in front of the rear-end, 3" SS tubing over the axle and a 16" Ultra-Flo behind the fuel tank. Looking for a nice tip that's not too flashy. It's nice to be able to work again with my hands above my head!.
Did a quick 2nd gear pull and what a difference in the power delivery. Power comes on much smoother even though it's definitely pulling harder. Exactly what I was looking for. Need to make the switch from closed-loop/map sensor signal boost control strategy to simple open-loop, dial it in a little on the backroads then head to the track. Exhaust is also much quieter and the rattle and drone is gone.
Another point for the S400 class over the 78/75. Really don't get all the hype on the 78/75's. The S480 spools better and is more effective at total power production. I guess they are easier to package.
Didn't take any pics of the exhaust and there's already another project on the lift, disabled. Some time soon.
Here is a pic of the turbo installed. Reason the hole is cut that way is so I can use a tight-radius 5.5" to 5" 90* elbow with a short 5" fllter. Can't put the filter straight off the turbo as the bottom half of it would be down in the wheel well.
Here are some pics of the exhaust. All stainless but MIG welded with stainless wire. Has a Vibrant resonator in front of the axle and a 16" Magnaflow at the rear. Buddy gave me the tip but up in the air whether to leave it on. Also, not a lot of 5.5" short air filters available, but found this one from AFE with an inverted cone. Will still remove it at the track though. Made a cover for the hole but the HF riveter decider to not cooperate (surprise!) so its temporarily screwed in place.
Michael, I assume you are referring to a strut tower brace. Is the triangulation to the firewall absolutely necessary? Somehow bracing a strut tower to a sheet metal firewall doesn't make sense and besides I have stuff on the firewall I would rather not have to move. What do you think about Wagonmeister brace? Think it will clear the Mustang m/c?
