Average price range for swap?
i am putting an ls1 in my 68 firebird, and as of right now (which i will still need about another $1000 to get it running) would be a lil over $6000, not including the car. it does include motor and tranny though!
I'm a little higher than that but I did a complete rebuild of the shortblock and added a new cam. I definitely could have saved some $ if I found some things cheaper but I wanted to do it right instead of skimping where it matters.
yea i put a cam in mine as well. i also have a 3500 stall that i'm gonna use too. i have some aftermarket stuff but most is stock. my motor and tranny have about 60,000 miles on them i think, thats why i decided not to rebuild yet

well, the best way I would think would be to buy teh complete car, and part it out, to offset the costs! Complete car for $5000, sell off the rest of the car for $2000-30000, that helps a lot!

I think it would be beneficial to have a breakdown of some of these engine swaps so we know how you are doing it. Are the given costs including big $ items such as aftermarket heads/cams, headers, radiators, wiring harnesses, custom gas tanks, etc?

im doing a 01 blazer ls1 swap iv got about $4000 in it so far wiht engine rebuild, trans, vig 3200 stall, ported heads, TR220 cam, 918's, ti retaners, ported oil pump, custom engine mounts, painless wiring harness, 98 ECM. and im running all corvete acc's, but most of my parts are used or have to be custom fabed, and i do all the work myself
