Default Ls foxbody drivetrain alignment?

Hey everyone long time reader first time poster just started my turbo 5.3 foxbody ls project. Long story short I’m using an aje k member with mounts everything bolted in smooth along with the flaming river rack I’m also using hooker turbo headers I had a slight clearance issue with the headers and steering shaft. But then noticed that the mounts had slotted holes so proceeded to move the engine over slightly sure enough steering shaft cleared, my question is moving the engine over is it going to give me issues with the alignment of drive train?
thanks for the help

It will possibly create operational issues for you unless you shift the trans mount over by the same amount. That is assuming that the design of the mounting components your are using position the engine/transmission center line parallel to the chassis centerline to begin with. An offset to the passenger side is permissible and is the geometry Ford designed the car around. I would recommend doing a string/plumb bob layout of the set-up to validate things as they are and make corrections as needed.

Do the geometry calcs and see what the angle is. I offset my engine 1/2" towards the passenger side, the tranny mount about 1/2 that much - because that's how the original Converse 5.0L swap done back in 1996 had things set up. It's in the 24th year of its beta test and seems none the worse for the offset. Folks seem to get into much more trouble with vertical-angle problems than with the horizontal ones.

It’s a combination of horizontal and vertical misalignment that can get you into trouble - total operating angle should be measured. So the coaching from AJE is troubling....because they don’t know what your vertical angles are...search around. Lots of online tutorials on how to measure/adjust driveline operating angles. Any approach other than measuring yours means someone’s just guessing.
