Dang man. Glad your ok and whatever happened, went early in the run. Had this taken place on the big end, the outcome could have been much different. Looks like maybe you popped an axle or something broke in the pumpkin. Sure turned right quickly. So, the engine issue was a hurt piston/ring?

Checked the rear axle by hand and all seems well... I swear some how the rack failed, but impossible to tell at this point. I'll take the rear apart for sure and inspect it.

The reason the engine wasn't making power originally was because the timing wasn't sync'd with the ECU. it was 12* off! Once fixed, I had many 5.5X passes around 14-15lbs. Car was running great. I was playing on the street trying to dial in the water/meth and somehow knocked the ringland out of the #1 piston. Makes no sense to me, as I was conservative timing wise to my knowledge and the plug looked great. But I threw a spare piston/rod assy in and knocked some timing out. That first track pass where I wrecked was low boost and timing. There were no issues with the motor I can tell... As far as I know, its still healthy. Just a freak accident.

Could it be the lock screw/nut between the steering column and the rack?

Back to cruising around town. Seems to run well. I'm liking the new radiator/shell.

New FWD control arms and rack, new wheels all around.

old setup looked pretty rough!

Congrats for getting it back together. I thought it was going to be totaled after the wreck.

Wasn't too bad. The wheels took up most of the impact. Nice to have a 1926 car with a "Crumple Zone"!

what's the story with those covers? Made for added turbo noises?

Think it was an attempt at a better anti-surge design that failed by HKS long ago. But on a side note they sound pretty ridiculous! Zero performance gains to be had that I'm aware of. Its a siren effect...

Should sound like this if done correctly.

I received my housings. Had to spend alot of time grinding down the vbands again, painting, and installing water/meth on them etc. Do all that and install them and there is zero change in sound. VS racing was nice about it, but simply said some design comp wheels are louder than other with this "mod". I get ABSOLUTLY zero sound out of the thing. Just the normal whistle I had previously from the exhaust.

VS said I Could remove them and send them back so they could look at them. This was a lot of time/effort for nothing. Pretty disappointed. They were $189 each... Hope they make it right. Already regret all the hassle for a sound change.

There is nothing coming from this comp housing.

That first video is crazy, like a kazoo on steroids. Unfortunate you got no sound out of it. Since you drilled the housings for WMI, curious if VSR is going to actually do anything for you.

I thought you were injecting WM pre-compressor? Looks like you have it plumbed into the compressor cover...

Not on this car. There are already 1/8th npt holes on these covers. The fluid still cools the charge as its being compressed there. Its pretty much considered pre turbo as well. Since I don't run filters at the track, I really don't have anywher eto mount pre turbo nozzles. I can't have fluid dripping out on the track. I've done several others pre turbo.

Odd how some are loud and some aren't. The genuine Borg t4 SX3 S475 was a whistler for me. When I went with a larger exh wheel it went away completely. Think most of that was the turbine side.
