5.3 LS s10 swap Hello, all my first post! Searching for info .... I have a 1992 s10 2wd, I am swapping an iron block 06 5.3 LS into it. Now the questions ...I have three transmissions NV-3500, TH350, and 4x4 4l60e from 1995 suburban.
I want to use the 4l60e. I have no prob making it 2wd. What I want to know from experienced swappers will the electronics work or am I asking for a bunch of nickel and diming of my wallet to death in order to make work normally...

nope, transmissions are from nv3500 from the s10 truck I can make it work. but not what I want to do later .... so the transmission I have is 1995 4l60e, I have a standalone harness and factory harness. same with ecms. Is it operational if I make it 2wd? or should I look for 2004 trans in 2wd, just to MAKE IT EASIER ....

honestly I would a trans thats closer to the year of the motor, I wanna say there is something different in that era of 4l60E

I believe 1995 is the year they added PWM to so I would have to use a 95 or later for the ls standalone. so I was wondering if anyone on this site has done just that installed pre2000 trans for swaps since I have three options avail cost is to overhaul or get new ... I also have a standalone and ECM for the manual trans but I not sure I want to use it

I have that option too, meaning I have th350 sitting on the ground ... so I might do that , means more money I don't want to spend .. either for harness or finding everying to make my harness work . thanks for your input. .. i am so trying to keep smog legal too . i am pulling the 4l60e out and i migfht decide to go though it and convert anyway and see if it will work
