As time passes, companies improve and refine their products. Such is the case with the Tick Performance intercooler brick. Originally I had purchased their first design, but they have since released their Ultra Low intercooler and this is the way I decided to go.

The Ultra Low intake has an integrated billet lid that reduces the overall height by 2 inches compared to their original intercooler and a Holley top.

Not only is the intake lower, but the throttle body mounting flange is also moved back, substantially, which generally improves fitment.

With the lower intake, now there is ample room to reuse the shaker scoop. The shaker scoop is such a unique feature of this build, that I really do not want to change it.

Hey Andrew! The latest changes are impressive. I didn't know the 3d mapping could work like that on something like a charge pipe. I also agree with the movement of the BOV. From a looks standpoint I think it will be better. In regard to the shaker, have you thought about mounting it to the hood? I know it won't be a "real" shaker at that point but that new intake looks sooooo nice. Keep it up, I look forward to when we can buy this whole drivetrain as a package

.Nice to see you're still following along.
I don't have a problem with mounting the shaker to the hood, except I don't know how to do it...
I'm open to suggestions.

The 8HP90 that I picked up had a mystery converter in it. It didn't look stock and frankly I didn't trust it. So I called up Circle D and had a discussion about my requirements. Here is what they suggested:

This is their hybrid 8HP90 converter. Externally it is the same size as the 8HP70 converter, which is 1/2" smaller in diameter than a stock 90 converter, but internally it is built to work with the 8HP90 transmission.
Here you can also see the Domiworks bellhousing adapter.

and the Domiworks converter adapter.
