Newbie swap question I recently changed direction on the restoration of my 69 camaro and have decided to go the LS swap route. I bought a running 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 (220,000 km) with a 5.3 in it. I’m going to be removing the engine soon and my newbie question is are there any other parts (other than the obvious; ecu, harness) I should be saving for the swap? I don’t want to discard or overlook something.

Why would you want to save a 4L60? It’s barely worth its weight in scrap. It can’t even handle full throttle shifts, the PCM actually has an “abuse mode” function that cuts power during shifts to prevent it from blowing up. Total garbage. Never should have been installed in a truck and has no business in a modified car.
