Default Should I do Lq4 + l96 frankenstein or..?

Hey i have an 03 lq4 and a 2015 l96. My truck has the lq4 and the harness+ecm for the lq4. Would it be better to swap the entire Engine and rework the harness or just swap the heads/intake? Kicker is lq4 just started making some tapping sounds recently if that affects the better choice. Thoughts?

If the l96 swap is better, can you summarize what I need to be aware of?

If I'm understanding this correctly you own a 03 truck with an LQ4 in it and you also have a L96 engine? I think the biggest problem is going to be the L96 is 58x and the 03 LQ4 is 24x. There's no rework that'll get that p59 to run that thing. Although i think ligenfelter might make a conversion box. I can't remember if it is 58x to 24x or the other way around. You need to do some homework and figure that out. If it was me I'd just sell that L96 for some REAL good money and just grab an 05 Lq4. It's 24x and its got the stronger rods and it's a bolt in affair. Someone else can correct me though. Depending on that tapping noise it may be nothing. In my experience more than half of the 6.0l's I've had seem to be a bit noisy but held up just fine with good oil pressure.

L96 has L92 heads. Some people like/luv they. It all depends what your goals are. The gen I’ve stuff has floating rods too.
