Default Help with holley terminator x max

Hey guys, I was trying to update the firmware in the handheld and ECU yesterday and now the ECU has lost power and none of the lights come on. The handheld still has power but says it can't locate the ECU. Has anyone experienced this or any guidance as to what it could be?

How did you wire the loose red/white wire in the main harness? Is it getting power when you turn the key on?

Problem solved, once I plugged the hand held into the main harness instead of the splitter it found the ECU and worked perfectly.

I always discourage my customers from using the splitters. In my experience they cause communication issues.

Yea I only use the splitter to send signal to the BIM module for the Dakota Digital cluster.

Does the splitter cause issues with the BIM?

I'm having trouble with the same.
initial power up (term.x max) still need to load base tune (input basic motor info).

I have power to the handheld, but the handheld says it's searching for the ECU.

I connected the handheld is directly to the ECU (I removed the dakota gauge splitter).
So, the ECU is connected directly to the battery and the powered up handheld is connected directly to the to the ECU, but it still says that it's searching for ECU (wtf?)

I know I've gotta be like one wire away from hearing it run...
Thanks in advance for any help

Do you have both power wires hooked up? There is a 12v and a 12v switched and ground wire.

Yeah, and just to double check the switched one (red/white stripe) I traced it back to where I could reach/cut it put direct power to it... same, looking for ecu.

Also No lights On on the ecu itself.
rechecked power sources/connections, re-inserted handheld connection (unplugged/replugged) still by itself in plug, just rechecking All.
The handheld was just replaced (by holley) as it was defective out of box (making me wonder if ecu itself is bad out of box too).
S happens :-/

In order for the ECU to turn on, the main power harness must be connected to the battery and the red and white wire must have +12volts. That's it. The other red and black wires are for the relay that is in the main harness. Those wires are necessary for the engine to run because that relay powers the injectors, coils, and the green fuel pump wires.

You may have a bad ECU. It's not super common, but it does happen.
