Helping a friend do a swap into an early 70's F100. Donor car was a 2013 Caprice 6.0/6l80e. This will be his third swap of a Caprice drivetrain into a classic (last two were 63 Impalas) and this time he wants to try to use as many parts from the donor as possible, including the radiator (and fans) and the factory ac compressor. From the wiring diagram, it appears the compressor is a variable output utilizing PWM with the signal coming from the HVAC control module.
Question. Can you just ground the compressor solenoid, send 12 volt to it and get the maximum output from the compressor?
