I think you'd be better off with a dual plane, like the Edelbrock performer RPM.
Are you going with a 4150 or 4160 style carb?
For myself, since I always end up just racing my cars, single plane and 4150 is the way I would always go. Plus, if you want to run a healthy shot of nitrous or a turbo eventually, the single plane is good for that, too.
