Default 502 lsx

It was brought to my attention that golen makes a 502 lsx... does anyone have any experience with this engine? I have some questions about putting it in a 1999 trans am for a n/a bad *** street car..
**Like will the 4.600" stroke of the crank clear the k member?

It takes a tall deck LSX block in order to reach 502 and it's not going to fit in a 4th Gen Fbody without a special k-member and most likely AC delete.

golen uses a rhs tall deck.

They're still both tall deck blocks with only one being an LSX but either way it will pose a challenge getting them to work in a 4th Gen without modifications and some cutting. The biggest issue is the windshield sitting over the back two cylinders and there's not much room in stock form getting to 6&8 spark plugs and the tall deck not only is taller but with the heads it's also wider up top.

The reason you dont see 502’s often is because they usually just make alot of torque as theyre rpm limited. 4.125 is as big as id go personally that way you can still rev it over 7,000 and make that high rpm hp. A lsx 454 would be plenty in an f body and you wouldnt have any issues with having to modify anything because the dimensions are the same as an oem block.
