Oil pan for 68' firebird/camaro
Doing a LS 6.2l swap into my 68' Firebird. Is there a factory or change over oil pan from a different model to fit the new trainy x member. Trainy X member obtained from Trans dapt. Any info is appreciated.

I used a CTS-V pan in my '81 Camaro. It is very thin in the front and fits well; cheaper than the Holley. However, it has a overall height of 7" versus 5.46 for the Holley 302-2, and therefore hangs a bit lower than the frame. The CTS-V hold 1 quart more than the Holley.
I first bought the Holley pan and rejected it for poor quality, but that was when it was brand new about 12 years ago.
I see the Holley is on sale now for $419. Heck it was over $500 those 12 years ago. However, it does not include the gasket or bolts.
I also see cheap 302-2 clones on ebay.

Can't to speak what will fit best but don't let the rear sump of the pan hang below the subframe crossmember. It you hit something with the pan it doesn't bend it breaks. It can crack the the back of the block.
