Default carbed 5.3 in 1985 k10 "Dieseling" wont shut off

hello i have just installed a 5.3ls with a edelbrock 600 carburetor, the truck runs, idles, drives great. But when i go to shut it down it stutters and runs 10-15 seconds. i was told too much fuel pressure could be a problem, as of right now i have 4psi. any suggestions with this would be appreciated.

4 psi is not too much fuel pressure. what is the base idle timing set at? What rpm does it idle at? Make sure the carb does not have the float set too high. Is the needle and seat sealing ?
