new ls build, 81 firebird I'm a new forum guy....fixing to do a new ls 6.2 swap and build on my 81 firebird, wondering if anyone out there has installed the gm 4L80 tranny in an 81 firebird, if it will fit the transmission tunnel is my question

I have an '81 Camaro which is the same body/chassis, but use a well built 4L65E.
IIRC this chassis will require tunnel mods to fit a 4L80E. I learned this on nastyz28.com years ago, but don't have links now.
These 4L80E parts which I document in an other thread will reduce or eliminate the tunnel mods:

Alternatively, the sponsor "Frank" of the Automatic Transmission section can build/sell you a 4L65E which will handle any NA power a 6.2 can produce for under $2600:
