I’m not so sure. A lot of guys run at a height where their LCAs sit about flat, or angled down slightly. I don’t seem to have much travel beyond that. I found someone on an Exo group that has a similar setup (V8R control arms and Fox suspension) but with a stock rear diff. However, he doesn’t run shock spacers, which I was told I need to do by Flyin’ Miata. His LCAs sit flat at rest. That alone would obviously give me extra travel, so I’m still planning on utilizing them.

Here’s the best pictures I can get of my travel right now.

Max upward travel. This is where the CV is in full bind and can’t be turned. Doesn’t even appear to be 10 degrees from flat.



Space remaining for the UCA to travel in the mounting pockets with CV in bind.



This is full droop, plenty of travel in this direction.



This is the picture I was provided by the owner mentioned above with the similar setup. This is with the same control arms and same suspension package I will have, but the diff/CV’s are stock and shocks do not have the frame spacers. The LCAs are flat at rest.

I also have a Miata and a couple of LS projects, but I'm not letting them interbreed for the time being.

I could be wrong, but I can't imagine this thing having more than +/- 3 inches of suspension travel from ride height. The shocks and springs won't allow more than that.

I agree, but the Fox Coilovers do have quite a bit of travel from what I’ve seen. My real worry isn’t so much day to day driving with it, it’s running things right on the edge to where if I hit a bump/pothole at speed and jam the inner joint into the diff, it’ll either lock up or something will give, and neither one of those are a situation I’d like to be in on the road. I was trained that with the shock body completely bottomed out, all other components should still move freely, so that the thickness of the bumpstop is your safety zone and you also still won’t have a critical failure if the bumpstop were to fail. I did speak to DSS today, they’re supposed to be sending an email with directions on how to verify what length CV axles I was sent. They agree that it seems like my axle shafts may be too long, and roughly figured that 1/4” shorter shafts may be in order.
