I swapped a LQ4/$L60E into a 77 Jeep Cherokee with no regrets at all. Advice to save time and money, buy and install quality parts so you don't have to redo later. And of course, refresh/rebuild donor motor as appropriate...to save time and money. I followed my own advice, so it's worked out well for me.

I regret not finishing mine.

Regrets? Not many, but one. The amount of transmission tunnel sheet metal that I'm snipping in my Pontiac Catalina to get a 4L60E properly aimed towards the differential. I'm close to finishing the snipping. Real close, within four degrees.

My biggest regret is choosing a car nobody works on or likes as the chassis, not because its bad but because of the lack of aftermarket support. Seriously, just buy a Camaro or a Mustang, you can buy parts.
