I swapped a LQ4/$L60E into a 77 Jeep Cherokee with no regrets at all. Advice to save time and money, buy and install quality parts so you don't have to redo later. And of course, refresh/rebuild donor motor as appropriate...to save time and money. I followed my own advice, so it's worked out well for me.

No real regrets. In a way I'm glad it took 7 years to finish this. Always change my mind and direction. But It's 98% done. It runs and going to Shortuning soon for the dyno tune

Regrets? Not many, but one. The amount of transmission tunnel sheet metal that I'm snipping in my Pontiac Catalina to get a 4L60E properly aimed towards the differential. I'm close to finishing the snipping. Real close, within four degrees.

My biggest regret is choosing a car nobody works on or likes as the chassis, not because its bad but because of the lack of aftermarket support. Seriously, just buy a Camaro or a Mustang, you can buy parts.
