Curious about ls swapping a superduty Okay, so lets get the sacreligeous factor out of the way. I am wondering about the realities of this swap. 6.4s are dropping like flies around here and i have always fit better in a ford than a chevy. I may have an opportunity to pickup an 08 very clean and very reasonable with a blown motor. Curious about dropping an lq4 4l80e and tcase combo into it. I am not interested in a cummins swap, or dropping a 6.4 in it. Just want to know the possibilities of an ls conversion.
fuel system seems very straight forward (rip it all and start over) and i would think gauges could be rendered functional or i could go with a tablet for gauges. What real hang ups do you see or warnings can u share. I have one ls swap almost under my belt on an 87 suburban that i am finishing ac and cooling system on. I made the harness and tuned ecm myself, and did not find it a bad process but figure that was a much more straight forward swap than this could be.
