Default GEN 4 engine in a GEN 3 truck

I’m wanting to swap in a 6.0L/6L80 into a 2005 GMC Sierra 2WD that has a 4.3L/4L60
is this possible or am I looking at major CANBUS problems ?
thanks

Yea that's going to need all the stuff from that Gen IV truck to make that work right.

Ditch the 6l80 and put the 6.0 with a 4l60 or 80. Much easier swap for you

In Simple Format, No It will not communicate. The Gen 3 truck uses Class 2 communication not can bus. The E38 is can bus. To make it work, you need all the Electronics from the Gen 4 truck.

If you have the engine harness modified to work with an E67 you can make it work.

this guy's truck is bad ***, I didn't click on the video but if its the one I think it is with the extended cab then yeh it's definitely bad ***. I would definitely love to get my hands on this truck. To dd that is, not to turn wrenches.

Yup guy above elaborated on what I said, didn't think my statement saying all the stuff from the Gen IV truck would be needed was hard to understand.
Bold added to help, again.

E67 is another option and it's been done, just takes more work.

Saw that build a while back that's done well.

Not Really. You can use an operating system with Class 2 coms on an E67 and not have to change the BCM, Cluster, and AC controls.

With the E38 it requires you to wire in the E38 BCM, Cluster, and AC control unit because it only supports CAN protocol.

at someone with your reading comprehension and 6 brain cells calling me an idiot.

You have no clue who you're talking about, genius. I mastered the Gen III LS stuff, built enough **** and have enough threads here to back that. You can't even read stuff typed on this forum.

So yea, stay being a "dummy" as you call yourself. Hopefully some woman didn't lower her standards and you two procreated, that's the last thing we need as a society.

Yup those are the people who want you to hold their hand the whole way with the swap. Probably still living with mommy and daddy too.

Sometimes they get spicy and call you an idiot when they can't figure things out with what they are trying to do..
