"Evening every one🍻

I have done some plumbing in the engine bay as i got the brackets for the heater lines and ac lines.

They are going to be painted semi gloss black when they are ready.

I'm going to fabricate some fittings for the heater lines and use Quicklok connectors between engine and the pipes.

Is the pipe on the LS engines for the heater 5/8" or 16mm ?

Some more brackets will be made for the oil filter console.

Front cross member also got some attention, welding reinforcements for the steering rack.

Have a nice evening

Christian

"G,day,

Finally the headers are wrapped and welded, i'm getting really tired of welding................

The box with rubber parts from the US came yesterday, looks good .

I also got a big piece of steel for the flywheel, when finished it going to weigh about 4 kilos(8lb).

"Hello,🍺

I finally had the engine painted, feels good.

Not the correct Datsun blue but it will work.

Heads went silver and the starter, alternator and AC compressor will be black wrinkle finish, engine brackets are semi gloss black.

I also fitted a oil cooler and of course some more brackets😂.

And a not so good pic of the man behind the spray gun 🤔

Have a nice evening

I have a soft spot for the Z car. I bought a new 73 240Z and couldn't believe I was spending $3800 for a new car.

Exhaust is pretty sweet, shame it can't be visually appreciated once the engine is set in. I bet it will sound pretty wicked. The oil cooler is a smart move considering the proximity of the headers to the pan.

Hello,
Time for a small update ,
I have been to the hardware stor and order som Stainless steel pipe for the fuel supply and mounted the fuel "modul", it consists of spin on filter Carter LP pump and a Lingenfelter HP pump And a pressure sensor.
I manage to squeeze it up between fuel tank and the "mustache" bar in the rear.
I also made a tank connection thing to adapt the larger hose to the tank, i will make a new 7/8 hole in the thank and mount it there.
I have also painted all of the brake lines, heater and air condition lines semi black.
Got some thin wall alu pipes for the inlet air and planing for that.
I also going to mount a Flex fuel sensor but were should it be mounted, at the rear(preferd) or up front?
About the heat, i have made a "pillow" of heat insulation material that will go between the oil sump and headers under the engine.

When I wrapped my headers, I was also not impressed with the tightness of the stainless zip ties. I wound up using CV joint boot clamps instead … much better.

Have to file this for future reference. BTW, did you use the special tool to tighten, or just do it with pliers? When I wrapped my exhaust I used the tool and it helped quite a bit.

I had the special tool already from rebuilding CV joints.

Good evening gents ,
A small update..........
i have worked with fuel system for a couple of days.
Pump module is mounted, new bracket again , tank connection is mounted, had to move the tank 1" further back to get more room for the 90° elbow .
A new stainless line (10mm)was made instead of the 6mm thin that was there from the beginning, unfortunately i bought the wrong quality of tubing so it was a pain to bend.
Made some new ends for the AN fittings also.
Only thing left is the fuel cooler to be mounted.
KN filte is were it should be, rest of it will be when engine is back were it should be.......
I also finally got the lump of steel to make me a flywheel, it will arrive next weekend.

Cheers
Christian

A small update,
Finally got my lump of steel for the flywheel.
Flywheel flex plate and clutch will weigh about 11 kilos i think thats just under 22 lbs.
The cross member has been reinforced some too.

This is without discs and spacers
