I'll post up some pics and a video of it.
My question - What should I do first? Seller said he'd get a dyno tune and then do nothing other than take it to the track and let it rip.
Thanks.
Brian
If you want it to be a street car, I'd look into converting it from methanol to E85 (if you have it available). Your tuner should be able to easily determine what your potential downsides would be switching away from methanol (if any, depending on the setup).
For example, if the car makes 1100 on a very very safe Methanol tune, it could reasonably make 1100 on E85 and still be in the margin of safety, even if it takes a couple of extra PSI to get there.
it now has a forged internals 6.0 in with PRC heads, 88 mm turbo, co2 boost control, Holley dominator, 220 pph injectors, methanol, power glide, etc.
I’ve been itching to get it on the dyno and make some pulls there. We had a few issues that we had to resolve. Boost sensor wasn’t working. Swapped sensors and fixed that. Oxygen sensor wasn’t t working. Swapped that and fixed that. Springs in the waste gate were pretty heavy. Swapped those to lighter springs.
We figure that the motor should be good to around 1300 whp. On the last pull, we ran out of injectors. 84% duty cycle. I ordered a set of billet atomizer 550 pph. Last pull we made 25 psi. Head gaskets are mlx, so we are going to swap them as well. Ordered a set of Athena’s. The turbo pumps is going to max around 1300 hp. The shop had a freshened up 98mm promod, so I bought that and having that installed as well.
Car made: 1120.2 hp and 1220.1 ft/lb
next visit in a couple of weeks, I should touch the 1300 hp.
My plan is to run the car this season and get comfortable with it running upper 4’s.
I put a down payment on a dart 427 that has laid down over 1800 whp. That’ll go in later summer. From there, I’m hoping to touch mid 4’s.
I’ll keep this post updated as I progress with it.

I stayed on the 2 step a little long. I thought I was supposed to see more boost on the launch. 4.6 PSI on the launch.

I've made A LOT of changes to the car vs when I bought it. Biggest change has been motor and turbo. Went with a 427 Mueller engine with pro mod 98/108 turbo. The motor is built to handle around 40 PSI. I added a lot of sensors. Davis VPS, DS speed sensor, Front shock travel, rear shock travel, exhaust back pressure, EGT's on the header pipes, then it had the basics. Changed the parachute to launch with a button via pneumatic cylinder or distance set via VPS.
