240sx Sikky headers help
I recently purchased Sikky headers for my LM7 240SX swap project, and I noticed that the headers do not have a bung for the O2 sensor. I assume this is common for aftermarket headers. I have a few questions:
- I think the answer is no, but should I be adding a bung directly to the headers?
- Are adapters like Hedman Oxygen Sensor Reducers a good option? Has anyone used these before? Any recommendations on how to go about this?
- Somewhat related—when doing an LS swap, do I need to install or retain catalytic converters? My understanding is that cars older than 30 years (like a 1992 240SX) aren’t required to pass emissions testing. Does that mean I don’t need to run cats?
O2 sensors good idea to use. Catalytic converter depends on where you live and what you’re going to do with the car.

Agree that O2 sensors are a good idea.
Not entirely correct. If the engine is running in open loop it is not using the O2 sensors even in a full fuel injection system. This is one of the reasons why it is important to tune the VE table or MAF curve well. There are people that actually run a speed density open loop only tune. I don't know why, but they do.
