Default Wiring advise

I have a 99 5.7 out of a 99corvette/ 6speed. I dont have an ecm or a harness and want to install into a 67 Chevelle. Should I source a factory ecm and harness, aftermarket ecm and harness setup or some combination of the two? Probably should ask more questions that I havent even considered yet. I dont have the transmission and I might go automatic in the Chevelle. Suggestions and thoughts and best options for cost benefit choices.

I've done a number of LS swaps. Autos and manual trans. I like and use Speartech and Howell. Not cheap but they have worked well and they have very good tech service.

Got to know your combo first; manual or auto. I like to use OEM stuff and an aftermarket harness. I've used PSI conversions several times with great support. Research is your friend here. Educate yourself as much as you can.

Anyone heard of "Turbo Nasty"?

I do all my own wiring out of the factory harness. Build it to what I need and make it work in the vehicle. Factory PCM and tune it with HP Tuners.

I've used PSI Conversions standalone engine harnesses twice on factory GM red / blue PCM devices with no complaints. PSI will need to know what transmission you plan on using. Will this be drive-by-cable or drive by wire? Things change a little if you wind up with a Flex Fuel engine setup. Red and blue PCM or Blue / Green? The PSI purchase process addresses most of these questions.

Decide who's tuning the car before you decide on which harness to use

If you have nothing at the start, then most quality routes will be about the same cost:

Stand alone harness, junkyard ECM, startup and final tuning for GM ECMs
Terminator X/Xmax, final tuning

Go with a Holley Terminator, youll be able to get it running and driving yourself and can work out all the issues before bringing it to the tuner for a final tune. So you save on having it towed to the tuner and depending on your setup and how basic it is, you might not even need a final tune so you would save $$ on that as well.

I agree with the above. looking back I wished I did this on my dailly driver ('86 C10 with '13 LS truck motor)
