CEL lit but no error code

CEL lit but no error code LM7/4l60E swap into 69 Nova ...
Starts up and runs fine (reight now it's open headers) but the CEL was on. Read the code EVAP (P0452). EVAP has been deleted so I went in and changed the EVAP mil/dtc to disabled/off (P0442->P0455)..
Uploaded "new" .bin but CEL still lit (made sure it wasn't a wiring thing by disconnecting the wire to C2/P46 - still low). Checked the rest of the DTC/MIL settings and it all looks ok (as far as I can tell --- no MIL enabled with the DTC turned off and visa versa).
Car is currently up on wheel cribs (working on an exhaust) so not able to drive it.
Question: would the pcm clear the code after driving it (maybe?)?
