newbie here with 63 impala
Hi. I have a 63 impala that I want to do a LS swap but want it to be the easiest level 1. it currently has a 4 speed muncie tranny so I'm good for now with the drivetrain. I can put a L460E later. My question is I just want to put the motor in with a carb for now. Can I do that without running all new fuel lines and pumps, tank, also the computer.
in other words what is the easiest LS swap I can do to a '63 Impala.
thx

your impala has an X frame
the fastest and easiest LS swap will be to stick with your current transmission.
you still have not crawled under your car to answer the last question of 10.5" clutch / 153 tooth flywheel (straight across bolts on starter) or 11" clutch 168 tooth flywheel (staggered bolts on starter). your only comment was "stock" however stock for the 327 doesnt mean anything as the 327 was offered with both.
if you have a 153 tooth flywheel, you can use your current bellhousing with a new clutch. however it needs a custom starter. like this kit. https://www.4wdbits.co.nz/ProductDet...productID=8984
if you have a 168 tooth flywheel, the standard LS starter works with a 168 tooth flywheel (suggest a RAM)
going carb, just buy a long block LS like this one listed on the marketplace https://ls1tech.com/forums/market/1983694
because you will need an intake, an MSD 6014, a LS flywheel, etc.
all this was covered in your original swap thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...ap-street.html
