Default BRP's mounts

Rock Valley fuel tank was great idea.. as was my Alumrad radiator with the in/out on the same side (crossflow)..

Also, dont use S&P's fuel system with the expensive modified fuel rail.. there is a better way..
I used the BRP mounts and I don't see how they move the motor forward. The mounts bolt directly to the motor with no offset and then directly to
the motor stands. The motor does sit forward of where the S&P mounts
puts it, but that's because they move the motor back. I also question the
weight issue. I mean given the same setup, it's probably better to move the
motor back 1.5 inches, but you're right, with the BRP setup you loose the
weight of the steering box for the lighter rack, and with the LS1 you lose
some much weight it becomes less of an issue. It's really just my opinion
since I haven't finished the car.

I appreciate the info I see here from you guys. I'm interested in the fuel rail comment above too.

Thats the point.. they have no offset so the motor has a lot of space between the back of the heads and the firewall.. there is also little space between the waterpump and the radiator..

Offset plates are very easy to make though.. im running a pinion gear box and NOT rack/pinion

What can you tell me about the fuel system for the LS1 in a first gen?
Sounds like the Rock Valley tank is the way to go. You mentioned an
easier way to get fuel to the LS1? Any info is appreciated.

Rock valley tank.. go to a 97 (?) vette filter/regulator.. mount this back by the tank. One line to the filter/regulator and then there is a return to the tank and the other line runs up to the stock f-body fuel rail.

Much cheaper than buying S&P's modified fuel rail and works great.. plus you only have one line running up to the engine.

did that make sense?

That setback plate you made - how did it effect the crossmember?

* BRP says moving the motor back will cause A/C to hit the subframe
* If I use the BRP mounts as intended = custom headers because of stock steering

BRP said to find someone who makes hot rod style "block huggers"
I have yet to find a comapny that does
talked to Snp - they recommended there vette style regulator (which they stock)over the modified lines - that seems to be easier
One advantage I have found with the SnP mounts - if you break a mount you can replace it with a $25 part from parts store - not so with BRP

Talked to rock valley - here are some current costs
345 for ls1 tank kit
35 sending unit
100 for rock valley to modify a new tank you send them
645 for rock valley to buy you a tank, modify it, and send it to you (send unit not inc)
figure 30 each time your tank goes on the ups truck
ths is for the oem style - my 67 looks 100% stock - love the sleeper look
