as you can tell by my name i have a 68 firebird that i am about ready to drop my ls1 into and i have been thinkin about this for a long time, but i have never figured anything out. my ls1 came with the powersteering pump and lines for it, but my old 68 has the original steering box. is there anyway to get the lines to thread into my old box? like adapters or somethin?!? i really dont wanna buy a new steering box, but if i have to i will! please any and all help is wanted

i called detriot speed . he sells an adapter that screws in the ls1 pump and has nice braided stainless lines that screw right into the factory box . it includes both lines , pressure and return. with a nice chrome clamp . 1 810 227 6343 is there number . shane or kyle is great to work with .

or you can straigten the bend out of the stock ls1 line at the box and cut the tip off , slide the old coupler off and slide on the one from you stock 68 line (you will have to cut it also). and refare it . this is free except for ruining the stock 68 line .

the return line is not a hardline since its low pressure, just hook up a rubber hose made for power steering return lines to the 2" plastic barbed line coming from the outside bottom of the pump.
