Default where to look for an ls1/t-56

I have a 68 camaro. im going to drive it like it is until the winter and then replace the zz3 crate motor and 4 speed manual for an ls1 and a t-56 combo.

im just looking for suggestions on where to start looking for an ls1. i want to be as cost efficient as i can since i am 17 and dont have much funding for the project. i will have the money from seeling my current setup tho.

thanks a lot

www.contemporarycorvette.com located in Bristol, PA deals in used LS1 powertrains. I got my 2001 'train there last year for $4400 complete with engine/accessories/wiring/PCM/trans/hydraulics/pedals

That price was with me picking it up at their site, no shipping or packing involved.

Find a way to buy a complete wrecked car.

I got a 2000 SS for $3800 complete. Selling over $2k in parts and I am way ahead.
