Almost done! 69 SS "Extreme-G"

Cool Almost done! 69 SS "Extreme-G"

I've been busting *** nightly to get the '69 completed by the end of September. If things go smoothly, I might have it done in about a week's time.

Remaining items:

Install fuel tank level sending unit
Install complete EFI fuel system (inline pump, regulator, lines)
Install complete dual 3" exhaust system
Install complete interior
modify factory cowl hood to clear intake tube on supercharger (easy)
Install supercharger intercooler tank/pump system
Install electric radiator fan
Fill all fluids (car is completely dry). Oil, Tranny, rearend, brakes, coolant, etc...

Dyno tuning with wideband O2
alignment
slight paint repairs (chips, scratches, etc.. from working on it)

Thats it!

I'll be towing the car to Year One's Commerce Challenge event (Oct 8-10) for the project's official debut. Johnny Hunkins from Popular Hotrodding is planning on shooting the car that Saturday. It will be nice to drive this car with its new LS6 engine and suspension parts. I've built 95% of this project by myself in a 1-car apartment garage, in just less than a year now. Recently moved to a new house and have alot more room:

BRP did the conversion on the Year One '69 Pace Car, so they definitely know their LS1 conversion stuff. Picking up sponsors takes a lot of phone calls and emails. Having a nice project webpage helps out tremendously, as well as industry references. Sponsors want exposure, plain and simple.

John, the X-pipe is part of the Stainless Works exhaust system I have

Its gonna sound wicked with the dual 3" and a blower

Here are some pics of the intake I built. I made it out of 3.5" exhaust tubing, welded the 90 on. Then I ground the welds smooth and had it polished and chromed. The filter is positioned inside the fender so that cool air comes in from the small grille beside the headlight.

Does the BRP rack and pinion steering clear the stock 1998 Camaro headers if i use the S&P motor mounts. I've installed the engine now. And i was just about start cutting my oil pan to clear the stock steering. But maybe ill keep it and go fro the BRP rack and pinion? how much does the steering kit cost? and is everything you need included?

I have no idea on that combo, not sure what the offset difference between S&P mounts and BRP mounts is, or what the relative distance is for the exhaust manifolds. The S&P mounts push the engine all the way back toward the firewall and sit the engine a little lower. The BRP mounts leave about 4" behind the engine and firewall and push the engine a little higher.
