Anyone have experience with carbed ls1 ? I am converting my tube frame C4 suspension 57' Corvette from a 406 sbc to LS6. I am installing a Cartek 3X LS6 out of my C5 and taking the C5 back closer to stock.
I think the GM intake looks great and would like to go carbureted. I have checked out the Edelbrock set-up and don't think it matches my set-up. I saw an article about the GM intake using an MSD setup with adjustable timing curves It had 5 different settings where the Edelbrock has 3 specific to their cams. I can't find this for sale though.
Would it be possible to use the original computer for ignition only ?
any info would be appreciated.

You might try looking around in the "internal" or "external" forums. I'm not sure that I recall anyone running a carb on a conversion. I know that I swapped in the LS1 to get fuel injection and get rid of the carb.

I read an article in Hot Rod/Car Craft about this set up. One of the big players has a stand alone ignition for the LS1. Check out some past issues.
You are going to struggle with cold starts and running rich. I don't think you will ever get enough heat to vaporize the fuel. Great for Pro Stocks, but hard to live with for a daily driver.

i know edelbrock offers the kit , but i had a customer looking for info on it the other day. I called everywhere and couldn't find anyone who has the kit running. Edelbrock diesn't even have much info when you call them.
