Default LS1 in my 89 formula

Well, I just ordered a set of weisco forged high compression pistons, eagle forged H beam rods, federal Mugal bearing kit, Arp complete engine bolt kit, and a GM gasket kit for the trans am. I figured since i am just using the aluminum block that was in I could build a 408 on the side with the iron 6.0 block i have. I was wondering who if anyone makes headers for a 3rd gen swap? I wanna run the edelbrock carb intake with their control box and a demon 850cfm carb so how would i get the electric fuel pump to work? Its a 5 speed car so would it be easy to put a t56 in, if not what would i need to do to get it in? I know ill need a new rear end since the third gen's are worse off rear end wise then a fourth gen, does moser make a nice set up? THis project is gonna take awhile but when its done it will scream

Fbodymotorsports.com has conversion headers for Third gen F-bodies. There not LT's but nobody makes LTs for this conversion because its nearly impossible. The headers on Fbody motorsports are like $700 . I personally used JBA shorty headers that my friend sold me for 75 bucks. They clear and its not $700, but If you have the dinero might as well. Im not sure if the conversion headers allow you to use a thirdgen y-pipe or not, but Im just havin a local shop make me a custom ypipe from the headers to a third gen cat back.

all thirdgen ls1 swaps have used 01-02 stock exaust manifolds cuz they flow just as good as shorties. never knew hawks thirdgen swap having longtubes. . I wonder how much those longtubes run.

2000+ stock manifolds have been shown to flow better than the shorty headers; and, you can even do a little porting on them to help them out more.

I'm going to try putting Pacesetter LTs in with Hawks tubular K-member. Hopefully going to go in, in a few more weeks.

Nice to see another 89 Formula doing the swap.

I've been trying to get in contact with bruce for a week or so , he's a tough guy to catch. I still need to get a quote from him on my harness.I'll ask him about the headers when I finally do catch up with him.

For those that didn't find the LT for the swap take a look HERE.

I am not sure if the tubular K member is needed or not.

The pic I linked to is Bruce's blown firehawk with a magnacharger. Sorry I should have mentioned that.

I think I will be going to magnacharger setup down the road if my current build doesn't do it for me.
